Community Based Services

Advocates Community Based Services programming is designed to meet the diverse needs of individuals and promote personal growth by maximizing each client’s functional ability, independence, and response to real life activities. Our trained staff creates settings and activities meant to simulate real life challenges clients may encounter at school, home, and in the community. Each client has an individualized plan, creating accountability and ensuring the client remains on track for success. Clients’ plans are built with supports like mentoring, crisis response, in-home independent living skills building including career services, respite, social skills, and team building activities.

The goal is to help identify root causes of behavioral issues and establish stability in behavioral patterns. This allows kids who are struggling with behavior issues to begin to function well enough to be successful academically, behaviorally, and relationally.

Services include:

  • Academic support
  • Behavioral coaching – Service Specialists are available to work with clients one on one or in a group setting to manage specific behaviors
  • Mental health assessment and recommendations – Clinical Team works together with clients and direct service staff, providing specific direction when a client is struggling, clinical case review and diagnostic recommendations.
  • Building collaborative teams – our team brings together a client’s family, teachers, and other clinical providers to create a consistent message and structure.
  • Family outreach and support – AHTL offers family engagement support to give parents and families the opportunity to learn more about themselves and the systems helping their kids find success while at Advocates. Staff connect with parents to develop consistency between Advocates and home which provides the best outcomes for kids in our care.
